If Google Adsense makes up most of your online income every month, then it is time to double that income with the new Referrals 2.0 program.

For Adsense publishers who have been referring people to sign up for Adsense, Adwords or install Firefox with Google toolbar, the new Referral 2.0 will give you much more flexibility and higher income potential. With thousands of products from various categories, you now have a choice of placing the most suitable product ads in your website. Not only does it improve the click through rate, it also helps to improve the theme and focus of your website.

Here are some of the benefits:

  • Expanded product inventory
  • Referrals 2.0 now offers products from thousands of Adwords advertisers, so there is no reason that you can’t find the right ads for your site.

  • Category and keyword targeting
  • Sometime, too many products can also give you selection headache. What you can do is to refer products by category and keywords. Google will help you figure out which ads perform the best in your site.

  • Ad unit optimization
  • There is no need to worry about ad performance because all ads are optimized for your site. When you create a new referral ad unit, simply select the Pick best performing ads option. Google Adsense will then compare your selected ads to other relevant ads, and serve the ads Google expects to perform best on your site.

  • Greater compensation for high-quality traffic
  • Referrals 2.0 are paid on a cost-per-action (CPA) basis, which means your traffic matters. If the traffic you send to advertisers is more likely to turn into a completed sale or lead, you will earn more with referrals.

  • Add your seal of approval
  • Unlike AdSense for content ads where you have no say over what ads to appear, the Referrals 2.0 allow you to place specific product referral on your site. You are also allowed to make specific references to referral ads on your site so as to increase the click through rate. If you endorse the product that you are referring, feel free to write your personal review, you can help your users make more informed choices.
